QUOTATIONS FROM PARTICIPANTS IN LIBERTY IN AMERICA EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
Virginia, 2010 - This program is "Required"
Buffalo, NY, 2010 - "After hearing this program a year ago, I invited a large group of my friends - all recent college grads - to hear this program. I was a little concerned because many of them are not active or even interested in politics or public policy, but the evening with Beth Powers gave this group hope that all is not lost in our government. We need to look back to our founding fathers and remember why they fought so hard for our emancipation from England. Taxes were too high and the money wasn't going to the people who earned it and deserved it. Here we are in 2011 facing the same issues. The people, once again, need to take charge. We need to contact our government officials, let our voices be heard and most of all exercise our freedom and right to vote."
Pennsylvania, 2010 - "Inspiring" "Motivational"
"Clean the House in 2010" says: "An interesting letter in the Australian Shooter Magazine, which I quote:
If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 Deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.
The firearm death rate in Washington, DC is 806 per 100,000 for the same period.
That means you are about 25 percent more likely to be shot and killed in the U.S. Capitol, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the U.S., than you are in Iraq.
Conclusion: The U.S. should pull out of Washington D.C."
George Sproat from Pennsylvania suggests, "Should 35% of the electorate in 3 November election cycles vote for a non-incumbent, we can take the system back".
A recent participant of a Houston, TX, Liberty In America program, in response to the evaluation question, "What one word or phrase best describes this program?" answered: "Required"
Bill from Virginia, who attended one of our educational programs told us afterward: "working as a government contractor I felt like a parasite and an enabler at the same time."
Gail Griffin, running for state representative in her home state of Arizona, District 25, has a 4" x 4" card that she passes out to everyone she can. It reads, "Is this a government function?" Think about it America, are you a puppet or in charge of your own destiny? What exactly should "government" do? And how will allowing more nanny control affect you as the values and people in government change?
One should recall Jefferson's complaint against King George in the Declaration of Independence: He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
One Liberty In America team member, while walking through the Bally lobby during FreedomFest, was asked by an Irishman, "Why are the American people so stupid?" hmmmmmm.......
